Lonely Monkey Sitting on a Cliff After Losing Its Mate – What Is It Doing There?

Today, I saw a monkey sitting all alone on a cliff. The wind was softly blowing, making its fur sway gently. It just sat there, staring down at the deep valley below, as if talking silently to its own heart.

People around here say that this monkey recently lost its partner. No one knows where its mate went, but ever since that day, it always sits there alone. Its eyes look empty, its gaze piercing deep into the forest far below the cliff.

I honestly have no idea what it’s doing there.

Is it waiting for its partner to come back?

Or is it silently saying goodbye to the world?

Sometimes, it looks up at the sky, as if saying, “Me without you is nothing.”

It looks so empty, as if it no longer cares about its own life.

Watching it, I couldn’t help but wonder, do animals also feel heartbreak the way humans do?

Do they carry that deep pain of losing their loved one, just like we do when someone we love is gone?

I stood there for a long time, staring at it. In my heart, I prayed that it would find the strength to stand up again and keep living, even without its partner by its side.
