Today, I saw a sight that melted my heart.
A tiny baby monkey was lying down on the cold, hard floor. His little eyes were closed, his chest gently rising and falling as he slept so deeply.
He looked completely exhausted, as if he hadn’t rested for days. His small arms were stretched out beside him, and his face was pressed against the floor. For a moment, I thought he was unwell, but then I saw his nose moving softly with each breath.
No one knows why he was so tired.
Did he spend the whole day looking for his mother?
Was he playing too much and ran out of energy?
Or was he just feeling lonely, with no one to cuddle him to sleep?
Watching him sleep like that on the cold floor made me feel so sad. Baby monkeys are supposed to sleep safely in their mother’s arms, feeling warm and protected. But here he was, all alone, without anyone to hug him close.
I couldn’t stop wondering, what was he dreaming about?
Was he dreaming of his mother, or of playing freely in the trees with his friends?
Seeing him like this made me realise how fragile and innocent these little creatures are. All they want is to feel loved, warm, and safe.
